CA Day Celebration :- Plenty of fireworks on July 1

There's no shortage of ways to celebrate Canada Day in Chatham-Kent.

A variety of events are planned for the holiday, which falls on Thursday. The free Canada D'Eh celebrations at Tecumseh Park in Chatham promise to provide plenty of entertainment.

The festivities kick off at 10 a.m. There will be two stages with entertainment, including musicians, dancers and a magician.

There are plenty of events planned for families and a parade is scheduled for 4 p.m. from Sandys Street to Lacroix Street to King Street. Fireworks will be held in the park beginning at 10:15 p.m. For more information visit www.canadadeh.ca.

Canada Day events at Chatham's off-leash dog park run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with an appearance by an RCMP officer in full dress uniform. Face painting, a patriotic pet contest, cake and a stupid dog trick competition are also planned for the event. Admission is free and pets are welcome. Canada Day in the Park will be held at Glad Tidings Community Church in Blenheim from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Events, food and fireworks are planned.

Canada Day celebrations at Clearville park will include a beef barbecue from 5-7 p.m. Fireworks will light up the sky at dusk. Tickets are $12 for adults and $5 for children aged 6-12.

Fireworks and festivities are also planned for Erieau, organized by Erieau Firefighter's Association. Events get under way at 5 p.m. A dunk tank and bouncing castle are available.
