Derailment delays express trains

Five bogies of a goods train derailed on the Nagpur-Durg route leading to several express trains being delayed. Two trains coming from Bilaspur were also terminated due to the accident.

According to railway sources, the goods train was going to Durg from Amgaon. It derailed at a place where some repair work was going on. The train crashed into a stationary engine leading to the derailment of five bogies from the track.

About seven to eight express trains going down the route were stopped at the nearest railway stations and were expected to be delayed by two to three hours till the railway authorities clear the bogies. Shivnath express going to Bilaspur and Intercity Express coming from Bilaspur were being terminated for the day, railway authorities said.
