This year, summer just does not seem to get going. No sooner the temperatures began to rise again, showers came back to cool things down in city.
The city witnessed thundershowers on Thursday after a gap of couple of days. The regional meteorological department said the cause for the showers was an upper air cyclonic circulation over east Madhya Pradesh. A wind discontinuation was observed running from east Madhya Pradesh to north interior Karnataka and the situation is still believed to be the same. Under its influence, east Vidarbha, mainly Chandrapur experienced heavy rainfall for almost 24 hours. There was light rainfall at Jabalpur and Gwalior of 2.6mm and 4.7mm respectively. Nearby areas like Gondia, Bhandara, Seoni and Balaghat also saw rainfall. The weather prophets believe that the it would be the same on Friday.
The city may see thundery developments with chances of aheavy fall.
