In an interesting twist to the Nagpur University's board of studies (BOS) polls controversy, chancellor-cum-governor K Sankaranarayanan has dispatched a strongly worded letter to VC Vilas Sapkal asking him to "verify facts" and act on it. The letter also asked the NU officials to reply before April 17, the date of polls, sources disclosed.
The letter was in response to a complaint made by senior academician Dr Ved Prakash Mishra heading the secular panel alleging many "irregularities" in the BOS poll process. Governor's secretary Vikas Chandra Rastogi confirmed to TOI from Mumbai that on Dr Mishra's letter, the chancellor's office had sought "factual report" from the NU VC on the allegations.
