On the first day, four CBI cases were listed for hearing, including the Preet Mandir illegal adoption case. Judge Lathkar deferred the hearing of the bail pleas filed by the suspects in the adoption case.
A notification to setting up three CBI special courts, one each in Pune, Nagpur and Amravati, for expediting trials in CBI cases was issued by the state department of law and judiciary on March 30. They are part of the 71 dedicated CBI court being set up in the country.
