Students of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) who opted for the school exam this year find themselves in a fix over Maharashtra government's stand of not admitting them in junior colleges. The forms for centralized admission process ( CAP) were distributed from Wednesday across the city and only CBSE students who gave the board exams will be allowed to apply. Working president of the Centralized Admission Committee ( CAC), Dr Baban Taywade, said, "Only students who appeared for board exam are allowed. At the time of submission of admission form, the students will have to submit a written undertaking from their respective schools that he/she appeared for board exam".
Most of the students that TOI spoke to thought that the rule is more of an imposition and deprived them the option of changing the board. The majority view was that the Maharashtra government should change its new diktat on admissions for CBSE school exams.
